Making this piece was a beginning in a new confidence in the way that I work - applying textures and glaze colours in a stronger and much bolder manner

It took 3 attempts to reach this result

but the coasters are actually very durable and strong

The colours were inspired by the flashing colours you can get with some brightly coloured flowers when they are grown together

The blues makes me think about the cleansing qualities of water
